Mary Elizabeth Branch Park has been awarded a SITES designation from the U.S. Green Building Council. SITES is a comprehensive rating system for developing sustainable landscapes; it’s akin to LEED certification for buildings. Designed by Design Workshop, the 3.5-acre Branch Park earned the designation for a number of green features, including:

A new food trailer is joining Mueller Trailer Eats: Lahleenea (pronounced La Linea) will soon serve Honduran-inspired dishes. Honduran cuisine is a fusion of indigenous Lenca, Spanish, Caribbean and West African influences. Lahleenea’s food is locally sourced when possible and made from scratch daily.

The Thrash Group, developers of the upcoming Origin Hotel, anticipate breaking ground on the five-story, 120-room boutique hotel designed by Lake|Flato architects in early-July. Origin at Mueller will feature a collection of comfortable and well-appointed rooms and suites that feature local funky-flair and color. Some rooms will feature bunk beds with capacity to sleep six, kitchenettes, and a terrace suite with large balcony and firepit. The park currently under construction along Mueller’s Philomena Street, bordered by Eberly and Robert Browning streets, has an official name. The new park will be called Jessie Andrews Park, named after the first woman to graduate and the first woman to teach at the University of Texas at Austin.
